ACUPUNCTURE- An ancient healing art
Acupuncture is an ancient healing art that uses the needles to pick potent points on the whole body surface. It works by stimulating the body’s self curative abilities. When the key points of the body are pressed they promote the circulation of the blood thereby enhancing the healing process of the body. It is said that the pain is the cry of the hungry nerve for want of better blood supply.
More than 3000 to 3500 years ago the Chinese discovered that pricking/pressing certain parts on the body relieved pain but it also influenced the functioning of certain organs in the body.
Another belief is that it began in Egypt back to 2300 B.C. Certain drawings found in the tomb depicts people treating others with massaging foot and hand.
In India we can also find mentioning of Acupuncture/ Acupressure way back to 1800 B.C. as Varma Chikitsa.
Acupuncture word was first introduced by Dr. William Ten Rhyne a Dutch physician who is said to have introduce Acupuncture in Europe by using the Latin word ‘Acus’ meaning ‘Needle’
This mode of therapy has been recognized by WHO and many other countries in the world including India. Acupuncture can be classified as follows :
It is now established by WHO (World Health Organisation) that Acupuncture produces the following effects.

Acupuncture does not have any side effect. In fact it removes and heals side effects of Allopathic Medicines. Acupuncture combined with other forms of medicines such as Homeopathy /Ayurvedic Medicine gives excellent effects.
Acupuncture gives excellent effects for overcoming diseases like, Arthritis, Spondylitis, Frozen Shoulder, Tennis Elbow, Sports Injuries, Diabetics, Head Ache, Sinus, Migraine and many more.
It is also very cost effective.
In my career spanning over 21 years in healing I have experienced and found that Acupuncture/Acupressure is a boon to humankind bestowed by God to heal body, mind and spirit to the optimum level and would recommend my fellow beings to try this mode of treatment at initial and chronic level of diseases.
All the best.
